The West Village is a neighborhood in Lower Manhattan, New York City, largely thought to constitute the western (or northwestern) portion of the larger Greenwich Village neighborhood.The West Village was traditionally bounded by the Hudson River to the west, West 14th Street to the north, Greenwich Avenue to the east, and Christopher Street to the south. The southern boundary is often considered to have extended as far south as Houston Street and the eastern boundary as far as Sixth or Seventh Avenue. The Far West Village extends from the Hudson River to Hudson Street.
